HOLY MASS  on 23-8-2018 Special Holy Mass celebrated in the prison. Fatima convent sisters from Gugi came with prepared meaningful Mass introduction and prayer of faithful. Rev. Fr. Gerald MSFS gave a thought provoking message. After the mass the inmates were happy to exchange the sweets with staff, sisters and among themselves in order to show that all are one. All were thrilled with happiness.  The inmates were touched by this celebration and said that was the first time that they were given a chance to move freely with all. At the end father blessed them with holy water and holy oil. Our sincere thanks to the Rev. Fr. Gerald for his availability and kind cooperation with us.

Donation of Bicycles:  On 30-8-18. Rev. Sr. Leema from Anbu Illam Nattamangalam donated 3 bicycles to prison inmate’s children. We say a big thanks to sister.

On the 8th of Sept. Our Lady of Vellankanni blessed the 13 life prisoners who were released from Salem central prison by the government.  Among them, one of the inmates was Kathamuthu, who spent 22 years in prison. He was very helpful  to PMI activities in the prison. His family from Tuticorin was not ready to accept him. The coordinator brought him to Fatima convent.  The family members were given counseling through phone the whole day. Finally his son who was a one year old when Kathamuthu was taken to prison, came after 23 years, for the first time and took his father home. Kathamuth was happy to go home.  The Legion of Mary members from Shevapet parish gave him Rs. 6000 for his family.   We are very grateful to the superior and sisters of Fatima community, who took good care of him and did the needful help. Kathamuthu would work as watchmen in one of our institutes when he comes back from home
